Mobilicity sponsors Toronto Chinatown Festival

Toronto, ON – August 26, 2010 – Mobilicity is pleased to announce its participation in this weekend’s Toronto Chinatown Festival as its exclusive Entertainment sponsor.

“We are proud to sponsor such an important cultural event as part of our ongoing commitment to the community,” said Sara Moore, Mobilicity’s Vice President of Marketing. “We recently opened a Mobilicity store in the heart of Chinatown and have

fantastic global long-distance programs that make it ultra-affordable to call China, Hong Kong and other parts of Asia.”

Mobilicity’s Unlimited Asia Long Distance add-on provides unlimited, convenient direct-dial calling to China, Hong Kong, India, and Singapore when customers add the $20 feature onto any calling plan. The company also offers Multi-Minute Long-Distance add-ons, and very competitive pay-per-use long-distance rates to countries, like China (including Hong Kong), Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia and South Korea, starting at just two cents per minute.

Asian pop-star ringtones and Chinese news content

For customers looking to personalize their phones with multicultural content, Mobilicity designed a unique, customizable download store with ringtones and wallpapers featuring Asian pop-stars, including Khalil Fong, Charice, Fiona Sit, F.I.R. and Jam Hsiao. The download store also provides direct links to Asian news sources, like Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post and Shanghai Daily, as well as CTV, The Globe and Mail and Toronto Star.

Mobilicity’s new Chinatown store is located at 491A Dundas Street West (at Spadina Avenue). This spring, the company launched its unlimited 3.5G network along with pay-in-advance, unlimited talk, text and data plans that deliver the quality Canadians expect and the value they deserve.

Mobilicity’s industry-leading unlimited plans range from its North American text & picture-messaging plan ($15/month) to its unlimited global text, talk, North American long-distance and data plan (with voicemail, call forwarding, three-way calling and call waiting) for $65/month. All Mobilicity plans are unlimited, include free caller ID, Mobilicity to Mobilicity calling and do not require a contract or credit check.

About the Toronto Chinatown Festival

In its 10th year, the Toronto Chinatown Festival is an annual celebration of Canada’s diverse Asian cultures and communities, welcoming over 100,000 people from across the Greater Toronto Area and out-of-town areas. Hosted by the Chinatown Business Improvement Area and its 10 partner associations, the Festival was established in 2001 and made it into the 2001 Guinness Book of World Records with the baking of the world’s largest moon cake. (The Festival still holds the record.) The Toronto Chinatown Festival is free and is open to the public on August 28 and 29, 2010 in Chinatown, along Spadina Avenue, between College and Queen Streets.
