TORONTO, June 4 /CNW/ - Data & Audio Visual Enterprises Wireless Inc. (DAVE Wireless) announced today it has entered into an agreement with T-Mobile USA, Inc., enabling voice and data roaming for its future subscribers while travelling in the United States.
"Signing our first international roaming agreement with T-Mobile USA, who is a leader in wireless, made perfect sense for DAVE Wireless," said Dave Dobbin, President of DAVE Wireless. "This will allow us to deliver 3G voice and data services to our customers and will provide access to extensive wireless coverage throughout the U.S."
The roaming agreement between DAVE Wireless and T-Mobile USA provides reciprocal roaming on each company's network in the markets where service is available. DAVE Wireless customers will be able to roam on T-Mobile USA's growing 3G network and on T-Mobile USA's GSM network throughout the United States. T-Mobile USA customers will be able to roam on DAVE Wireless' UMTS network in 10 of the 13 largest markets in Canada following the planned commercial launch in the first half of 2010.
"UMTS is considered to be the next generation of wireless technology and as we move forward with our launch, we will be looking to develop more diverse roaming partnerships to provide our customers with affordable access to voice and data wireless services outside our target markets and internationally," said Dobbin. "The network technology strategy we adopted will not only allow us to provide our customers with the latest and most innovative handsets, but also offer the most technologically advanced wireless services."
DAVE Wireless currently holds 10 licenses and is poised to deliver innovative voice and data wireless services to targeted urban markets across Canada.
